Qualifications -

Richard Boitnott, owner of Natural Resource Systems, worked for International Paper for 22 years in a variety of forest and wildlife management positions. He managed the SFI program for a 2.1 million acre landbase, helping to develop policies, programs, and procedures to conform with the SFI and ISO 14001 environmental standards. His wildlife management experience with International Paper ranged from field to region to division staff level positions, and included:

Development of a leasing program on 350,000 acres of previously open land in central Louisiana.
Management of a commercial hunting operation in east Texas.
Administration of a region wildlife program with responsibility for providing a financial return from wildlife resources on 2.1 million acres of company land and developing a suite of services for 2500 hunting clubs with 30,000 customers.
Final position with International Paper was as Manager of Wildlife Programs on division staff. In this position he developed a strategic plan to provide a comprehensive, consistent wildlife program across the company's entire 12 million acre landbase.

As a consultant, Mr. Boitnott has combined his industry, forest certification, wildlife management, and software development experience to form Natural Resource Systems, LLC. Listed below are the educational background, selected project experience, and professional certifications that enable Mr. Boitnott to provide a variety of forest certification and wildlife management services.

Education:
- B.S. in forest management from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri.
- M.S. in forest economics from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas.
Selected Project Experience:
- Conducts SFI, FSC and ISO 14001 audits for forest management and wood procurement operations throughout the United States
- Serves as the forestry technical expert for Bureau Veritas Certification
- Serves on the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Boards SFI Committee of Experts
- Serves on the Forestry Auditors Forum as vice-chairman
- Provided consulting to the U.S. Forest Service to develop and implement environmental management systems on National Forests throughout the country. Consulting consisted of ISO 14001 training, development of internal auditor guidelines and training courses, and leading internal audits.
- Helped conduct two of the first four Group Tree Farm pilot certification audits
- Consulted with Potlatch Corporation to develop a hunting lease program on company land in Minnesota
- Manages over 70,000 acres of hunting leases in east Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana
- Writes wildlife database applications, including a program used by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to help manage the state's deer herd.
- Developed CheckStation^TM Deer Management Software.
